Spring Comes To Belle Isle

The flowers are starting to bloom in the gardens near the Conservatory, and that means it's time for the spring clean-up of the island on Saturday, April 24th. Get details to help out here. After the snow melts every spring, our girl needs a little extra spruce-up to get ready for summer.
The Conservatory was quite busy. It is open 365 days a year, so it makes for a nice holiday tradition to visit.
I need help...is this a star magnolia? or a dogwood? or something else entirely? It is spectacular, with the cupcake of a gazebo in the background.

We peeked through an open window into the greenhouse....
and peeked through the glass, too...
wandered the gardens...
and admired the swans as we headed off to the family dinner.

  1. Very beautiful and refreshing! we, in Karachi, get spring for 2-3 weeks only and then it's long and quite hot summer :)

  2. Hi Meam! Our spring is very welcome after what seems like endless winter and grey skies. I'm glad you visited.
