Welcome to French Vignette. What is this place?

 It's the next chapter of my life. From 2016 to 2020, I worked non-stop. So many hours. But with the onset of the pandemic, my workload slowed down, I started working remotely, and I had a dream. I've wanted to be French since I was 13, and now I'm working at it harder than ever. In fall of 2021, I made my triumphant return to Paris, after 20 years of staying put in the U.S. While I had Smart & Fluffy (my dogs who passed in 2018 and 2019, you can see them in older posts), it was hard to travel. First, I was mostly too poor for it. Second, I wouldn't have wanted to be away from them all the time. In early 2021, a close friend and colleague was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It was shocking and terrible. Eight months later, she was gone. While she was still alive, I began to think, "What am I waiting for?"
